At Polycrust Wires & Cables, our PVC compounds are meticulously engineered by combining high-quality polymer with a precise mix of additives, tailored to achieve specific properties for various wire and cable applications. These additives are measured in parts per hundred resin (phr) to ensure consistency and performance. The compound is created through a thorough mixing process, transforming into a gelled article when exposed to heat and shear. Before this gelation, the compound can exist as a free-flowing powder, known as a dry blend, or as a liquid in the form of a paste or solution. By incorporating plasticizers, our PVC compounds can be made flexible, referred to as P-PVC, which is ideal for flexible wire applications. Conversely, for rigid wire applications, we use compounds without plasticizers, known as U-PVC, ensuring durability and stability in demanding environments.
